If I had a family member or a friend that was 18 and he or she did not want to vote I would ask her or him to think about everything they hate about the government or like about the government. Then I would ask them if they would like to keep the things that they liked about the government and get rid of the things they did not like. I would tell them that by voting they are exercising their freedom to choose what they want and don’t want to be done. I would tell him/her that in order for us to continue having a democratic government we must vote and exercise our rights or else we will become nothing but a dictatorship. Another reason why I would tell him/her to vote would be that we must keep our democrats honest and we will do that by showing them that we care through our vote and we will also through this action make sure that we do not get “screwed” by a plan that was not well thought up. Voting can prevent democrats from thinking that they can take advantage of us and force their policy on us without our approval. The fact that they need our vote will make them provide us with information on what they plan to do and how they plan to do it. Also the fact that we vote shows that we are proud of being here in this free nation and that it is in fact a free nation. Voting is a right that we all have and we as citizen have the obligation to vote if we want a better nation cause if you do not vote you cant complain about anything.
